Eastern interns

FEWER SPANISH doctors are coming to the Algarve but there is an increase in the number of Eastern European medical students doing internships in the region, according to the President of the regional health service, Rui Lourenço.

Of the 25 medical interns in the region, nine are of Eastern European origin, namely from Moldavia and the Ukraine.

Since January, the number of Spanish doctors in the Algarve has fallen, leading to the loss of 11 hospital staff.
