Dear Editor,
It’s happened again. We get a little rain – well OK a lot – and immediately people start driving like idiots.
We all know about the disastrous state of the roads here in the Algarve, but the rain fills up the potholes. Apparently this means that they are no longer there, as maniacs drive faster, more furiously and (of course) without any lights on.
The good side to the abysmal weather we have experienced this week? Well, there are a couple I can think of immediately. The GNR are far from keen to stand in the rain and stop people for nonsensical checks of paperwork.
And another, more importantly for me, is that my cisterna has filled up nicely, so I won’t have to part with quite so much money to the câmara next month. Yes – every cloud does have a silver lining – or two.
