Fatacil 2008 opens this week!

LAGOA’S 29TH annual Fatacil Fair starts Friday August 22 at the Parque Municipal de Feiras e Exposições de Lagoa.

This year’s fair, which runs until August 31, includes around 800 exhibitors with crafts, food and company stalls, as well as animal exhibits and shows, and a different musical concert each night.

Artists will include Portuguese bands such as Iris, Anjos, Jorge Palma, a Queen tribute band, Pedro Abrunhosa, Tony Carreira and Xutos e Pontapés.

Each day will also be themed including Algarve Tourist Day on Friday and Blood Donor Day, on Saturday, when a mobile blood donor unit will be at the fair to collect donations as well as provide information about the procedure.

There will also be a variety of demonstrations including police dog training, horse riding, show jumping and sheep dog training, throughout the fair.

Opening hours are from 4pm until 1am, with entry tickets costing five euros for adults. Children under 12 do not pay. For more information please telephone 282 353 453.
