Fatacil fair fun continues

LAGOA IS currently hosting its 28th annual fair, Fatacil 2007, which runs until Sunday.

This year, the fair has more than 300 craft exhibitors with items ranging from glassware to leather, paintings, crochet, wooden artefacts, dolls and pottery from around Portugal and the world.

There are also plenty of animals, including horses, pigs, cattle, sheep, donkeys and goats for visitors to see as well as many food stalls and commercial stalls selling items ranging from swimming pools to furniture and tractors.

Evening entertainment at the fair is different each evening. Tonight (Friday) Portuguese rock band Xutos e Pontapés will be playing in concert, followed by popular singer Joana tomorrow night. Tony Carreira will be closing the fair with his concert on Sunday evening.

The Fatacil is located at the Parque Municipal de Feiras e Exposições in Lagoa and is open from 4pm each day. Tickets cost four euros for everyone over the age of 12. Children under 12 receive free entry.
