MORE THAN 2,000 euros was raised on Saturday, September 20, during a fashion show in aid of the Nandi Charity in Lagos. Held at Monte’s Restaurant in Boavista, the event featured a fine array of clothes from the charity shops – proving that it doesn’t take much money to look good!

The fashion show was composed of five main themes – Block Brights, Nautical, Summer Nights, Preto e Branco and Blooming Lovely and showcased a wide variety of clothes for all tastes. There was also a demonstration on how accessories can completely change an outfit.

Another of the day’s highlights was a stunning and sensuous salsa performed by dancers from Strictly

Organiser Karen Lennon was overwhelmed by the huge success of the show, saying “I am so humbled by people’s generosity – not only with their money but also with their time, knowledge and support. I would like to thank all the models for their enthusiasm, professional approach and hard work on the day, as well as all the people who helped behind the scenes with hair, make-up and dressing. Also, I’d like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors and those who generously donated such fabulous items for the raffle!”

“Nandi president Maureen Norton has been a tower of strength to me throughout the organisation of the show. Sadly her lovely dog, Dippy, died recently and so we dedicated the fashion show to him,” said Karen.
