A new spa which uses a special breed of fish to relieve the symptoms of psoriasis and dead skin on the feet has opened in Albufeira.
The Gara Rufa Fish Spa, Zpiroz Zpa, is run by Patrick Molin, a Swedish resident who moved to the Algarve in May this year and opened the spa located on Rua de Dunfermline, 300 metres from the “strip”.
“So far the spa is proving to be very popular but we are hoping to see more local people here as the summer season comes to an end,” said Patrick Molin.
Usually treatments cost €15 for 15 minutes, however the spa is currently running a special offer giving a 30-minute treatment for €20.
“The sensation of the fish is similar to a reflexology massage or stone therapy and can temporarily remove the symptoms of psoriasis, dry skin and even headaches,” added Patrick.
The first 10 customers who come to the spa with a copy of the August 26 edition of the Algarve Resident and say “Jag Vill bli fiskmat” will receive a free session when paying for one session.
