Faro and Vigo direct connection will be launched on June 23
German bus operator FlixBus is launching a new direct connection between Vigo (Spain) and Faro on June 23.
The new Vigo–Faro connection brings two major tourist regions closer, the bus operator says, offering Galician travellers easier access to Portugal’s southern beaches, while giving Algarve residents a more convenient and affordable way to visit Galicia.
The Vigo route comes shortly after the launch of the new Málaga–Faro line, which began operating in late May with stops in Jerez de la Frontera and Marbella. Both routes will offer two daily trips in each direction.
“This expansion is part of FlixBus’ growth strategy in Portugal,” said Tiago Cavaco Alves, the company’s operations director for Portugal. “Our goal is to connect more cities while promoting affordable, comfortable, and eco-friendly travel options that allow people to leave their cars at home.”
In response to rising seasonal demand, FlixBus is also boosting service along Portugal’s southwest coast. The Lisbon–Costa Vicentina route now includes two daily departures to Sines, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Zambujeira do Mar, Odeceixe, and Aljezur – all popular summer destinations among both locals and international visitors.
