A 68-year-old French holidaymaker who slipped and hit his head on rocks near Ferragudo castle was rescued and taken to Portimão Hospital on Tuesday.
The tourist was unconscious when members of Ferragudo’s sea rescue station and Lagos Bombeiros arrived.
According to a statement by the national maritime authority (AMN), the holidaymaker was collecting limpets when the accident occurred.
