Good news for coffee drinkers

Coffee drinkers can celebrate: a new study has shown that moderate consumption of coffee can reduce the chances of developing type II diabetes.

The news comes as type II diabetes is fast becoming known as a global public health disaster.

The international study by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee has concluded that moderate consumption of coffee may reduce the chances of developing type 2 diabetes by as much as 25%.

Researchers base their conclusions on two aspects: the first is the fact that caffeine stimulates the human metabolism and increases energy usage; the second revolves around coffee components, which have been found to balance the human body’s glucose levels.
