Following last week’s opening of the Portuguese Shooting Association centre in Vale da Arrancada, Portimão, the Algarve now boasts one of the sport’s best facilities in the country.
The new range is the result of a joint effort by the local council and small bore shooting’s national governing body designed to promote and further the sport in the south of Portugal. The centre is also suitable for GNR and PSP police force firearms training which was previously only available in Tavira.
Further expansion is planned for next year with the construction of an outdoor range able to stage international competitions.
