Help others this Christmas

TWO EXHIBITIONS have been organised in Lagos to celebrate the International day for handicapped children, which takes place on Monday, December 3.

N.E.C.I, a school for physically and mentally disabled children in Montinhos de Luz has organised an exhibition at the Slave Market in Lagos everyday between December 1 and 15.

All forms of art will be on display and for sale to raise much needed funds for the school.

Another exhibition will be organised on December 3 at Lagos new exhibition centre between 4pm and 9pm. This will run until December 9, between 10am and 5pm.

BANCO ALIMENTAR Contra a Fome in the Algarve (BAA), the regional branch of the Portuguese Food Bank Network, is holding a food collecting operation in the region this weekend.

A total of 1,400 volunteers placed in 70 commercial food stores and supermarkets are involved in a campaign that aims to collect enough food to help more than 7,000 people through several charitable associations.

The organisers ask for donators of non-perishable food, like pasteurised milk, canned food, cookies, sugar, flour, pasta, rice and oil.
