Golfers will have the opportunity to meet and play with professionals from the Ladies European Tour during the ACCA Pro-Am golf tournament and pre-tournament cocktail party on June 21 and 22.
This is a chance to learn from the pros while raising money for Algarve children’s charity ACCA during the 10th edition of this annual event.
Players confirmed to take part in the tournament include Rebecca Hudson, Tenerife Ladies Open winner, French golfer Cassandra Kirkland and Tara Dayer-Smith from England.
Organiser Wanda Crawford told the Algarve Resident: “ACCA supports children’s charities across the Algarve and a large chunk of the funds raised by this event will be going to Faro-based charity APATRIS, which helps children with Down Syndrome.
“Money will be used to fund summer camp programmes for the children to be kept active and occupied through the summer months.”
Participants will be able to chat with the professionals during a cocktail evening to be held at Pinheiros Altos from 6.30pm on June 21 before taking part in the shotgun start competition, also at Pinheiros Altos, the following day.
“Participants in the competition can be put into groups on the day or can come as an existing group and be placed with a professional. We are expecting the tournament to be four-ball but this depends on the final numbers,” said Wanda Crawford.
Entry to the tournament costs 150 euros per person and this includes the cocktail party, competition and prize-giving lunch.
