Hilton Vilamoura is hosting a dinner to celebrate the 45th anniversary of AAPACDM, an association supporting children with special needs and their parents, on November 9.
More than 100 guests are expected to attend the event which will also serve to raise funds for the construction of a space where special needs children can develop their skills at their own individual pace.
The opening of the ‘Sala de Autonomias – Eu Consigo’ (Autonomy Room – I Can) is scheduled for February 2014 and will be built in a space provided by the Municipality of Faro. With this facility, it is intended that children with neurodevelopment disorders can gain greater personal and social autonomy, allowing them to reduce dependence on third parties. An auction, under the responsibility of Scott Curry, will take place during the dinner and will feature items donated by the various partners of the project. Among the sponsors of the event are the Open Media Group, Algarve Resident, Faro Câmara, Hilton Vilamoura, Conrad Algarve, Jumbo, NATAdesign, British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, DOP Gráfica Digital, Letra 7 Publicidade, KISS FM and Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Faro.
David Ecija, general manager of Hilton Vilamoura, said: “It’s an honour to receive AAPACDM guests at the Hilton Vilamoura and also to know that we are contributing to the future of this association, ensuring the welfare of children and young people.”
Vouchers for stays at Hilton units, football player T-shirts, private golf clinics with Ricardo Santos and dinner by Hilton Vilamoura chefs are some of items that have been offered by Hilton Vilamoura for the auction.
AAPACDM is a non-profit private institution of social solidarity, founded in April 1968. Its main objective is to support children and young people with disabilities throughout the Algarve.
The dinner starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost €45 per person.
