It has almost got to the stage where I dread reading your very informative on-line copy of the Algarve Resident.
It seems that every week there are reports of burglary, violence and something we have noticed increasingly over the last couple of years, prostitution.
What is wrong with the government/ police? Do they not realise the massive impact that crime such as this will have on tourism and also second-home owners?
Our plan to purchase a second-home in the Algarve in two years time is definitely on hold.
Why would we spend our hard-earned money investing somewhere where there is an apparent lack of interest by the police.
At least this seems to be the message from unfortunate victims of crime in the area.
Those who can change things need to do so QUICKLY. Wake up before we all find somewhere else to go!
