The GNR and maritime police, in a collaborative operation, seized close to 1,200 Bolas de Berlim (creamy sweet cakes) from 22 vendors along the beaches of Falésia, Rocha Baixinha and Tomates.
The vendors of the sweet cakes were questioned by the authorities, who revealed that none possessed the necessary documentation and licences to sell the cakes on beaches.
It has been reported that one of them, a Brazilian, was taken into custody as he had previously been ordered to leave the country. In total, 18 of the vendors were Brazilian, two Moroccan and two Portuguese.
