MARRIAGES INVOLVING at least one immigrant have more than doubled in Portugal over the last five years according to a survey by the National Institute of Statistics.
Between 2001 and 2005 the number of weddings involving foreign residents increased by 107 per cent from 2,093 marriages to 4,332.
The same survey revealed that the number of foreign residents in Portugal has increased by 137 percent over 10 years.
