Indominable Nadal

Neither Andy Murray or Roger Federer-conqueror and men’s singles finalist Tomas Berdych were able to match Rafael Nadal’s aggressive powerplay as the 24-year-old Spaniard went on to claim his second Wimbledon crown.

Serena Williams exercised similar dominance in the women’s competition in seeing off all comers to up her personal SW19 tally to four.

While Nadal’s victory cemented his standing at the top of the ATP world rankings Federer’s quarter-final demise has dropped the Swiss into an unaccustomned third place behind new No2 Novak Djokovic- Murray remains in fourth position.
