ALMANCIL GNR have confirmed that they are still investigating a parking dispute between a 72-year-old British man and a couple, also from the Almancil’s international community, which left the former in a coma. The incident took place in the Rua 5 de Outubro in Almancil on Monday, May 7.
“We have some detailed information regarding what happened and are confident that the correct outcome will be achieved,” said GNR chief, Major Antunes. He would not confirm if any charges have been made and underlined that details would not be released yet due to Portugal’s Secrecy of Justice laws, but said that the investigation was still “ongoing”.
It is understood that the 72-year-old man is still in Lisbon’s São José Hospital on a life support machine. The family did not wish to comment further on the matter.
