This Wednesday marks the launch of the support line
The municipal council of Lagos has launched a new WhatsApp support line for citizens, offering them a more practical way to ask simple questions, book appointments and access general information about local services.
The initiative is part of the ongoing digital transformation of public services and will be managed through the Citizen and Business Support Office (GCE), the council says.
Launched this Wednesday (March 21), the service is available on weekdays from 9am to 5pm at the number +351 969 293 218. Messages will be handled by trained staff to ensure clear, safe, and GDPR-compliant communication, the local authority adds.
For more complex or sensitive matters, such as those involving personal data or requiring technical analysis, residents will be referred to the appropriate channels, such as phone, email, or in-person service.
In addition, the municipality has launched a WhatsApp Community, which residents can join here. This group is informational only, used to share official updates and announcements, with no direct interaction required.
The move is part of Lagos’ wider effort to modernise and improve public services and build a closer, more digital and efficient local government.
