Tax payers in the municipality of Loulé will not see the IMI (Imposto Municipal sobre Imóveis) property tax rising during 2011.
Rates in the municipality are to remain at the same level as 2010, with urban properties subject to a 0.68 per cent tax.
Also approved by the Câmara was the continuation in 2011 of the exemption of the payment of IMT property taxes in the parishes of Alte, Ameixial Benafim, Querença, Salir and Tôr, while young buyers between the ages of 18 and 35 are also exempt from this tax providing it is their primary place of residence.
