The Mad Hatters Riverside Bar, by the old military bridge in the centre of Tavira, took a break from its regular round of live TV sports events to host a Quiz Evening last week and raised more than €200 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The regulars were joined by tourists for a fun evening that resulted in a very close contest. With one round to go, The Motley Crew of Kevin Bain, Nikki and Errol Smith were on level pegging with Team M,V & L Mike Wreford, Vicki and Larry Bawden.
It was The Motley Crew who scraped home by
two points.
“We will have hoped to have made about €350 in total from the quiz, raffle and donations for the Poppy Appeal,” said bar manager Danni Baines.
