FARO POLICE arrested a 35-year-old man who allegedly raped a woman working in a shop in Patacão, a small village just outside Faro.
Police say the woman was taking a bathroom break when a man grabbed and raped her. It seems the man was travelling on a bike and that detail was crucial in helping police find him.
According to a local witness, the bike used to escape was parked just outside the shop when the alleged incident happened.
The immediate alert to authorities helped them arrest the man only three kilometres from the scene.
