FOUR MOTHERS have made a formal complaint against a teacher who they allege mistreated their sons at Relógio, a kindergarten which is run by Casa dos Rapazes in Faro.
A file on the case was sent to the Ministério Público, the official body that decides on criminal investigations and if this is a case to answer in court.
The teacher was suspended two months after the first complaint was received by the managing team, headed by António Barão, the president of Casa dos Rapazes, a non-governmental charity organisation for young boys with family problems, in whose premises the kindergarten operates.
António Barão said: “The teacher’s contract was not renewed at the beginning of July due to the investigation.”
It is understood that she was Relógio’s educational director since its opening 18 months ago, and according to António Barão there were never complaints about her behaviour. He said investigations were continuing and all staff were being questioned.
