A LISBON Câmara spokesman said on Tuesday that licenses were issued for 30 new hotels in the capital in the last 12 months.
“Since August 2007, the Câmara has licensed 30 new hotels, which represents a huge advance that will impact on the tourism sector,” said the councillor for urbanism, Manuel Salgado.
The councillor gave as examples, new hotel projects for Alfama and Campo das Cebolas, among others.
Manuel Salgado also presented a document which shows the projects that are planned for the 19 kilometre riverside area of Lisbon.
