Staff from Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort provided a meal to around 80 people on December 16 at the Nossa Senhora do Amparo social centre in Portimão.
Executive Chef Bernard Lussiana and his team prepared the buffet while the rest of the Penina volunteers set up the room in preparation to receive the guests from the centre which included elderly members of the community, those suffering from financial difficulties, recovering drug and alcohol addicts and unemployed residents.

Special guests at the meal were local premier league footballers from the Portimonense football club who had been invited by Le Meridien Penina to make the event a very special occasion for the guests.
The social centre belongs to the parish of Nossa Senhora do Amparo and is run under the supervision of Padre Arsénio, who had dedicated the past 35 years of his life to the project of improving the lives of those in the local area.
