New coworking space opens in Barão de São João

Coworking space features 10 workstations, a fully equipped meeting room, kitchenette and lounge area

A new fully equipped coworking space has opened in the inland village of Barão de São João in Lagos.

The coworking hub, located inside the Bensafrim and Barão de São João parish union building, was inaugurated on Friday, June 20, marking the latest expansion of the award-winning CoLagos brand into the interior of the municipality.

In response to growing demand for remote and collaborative workspaces, the new coworking hub offers 10 workstations, a fully equipped meeting room, kitchenette, and lounge area. Users can choose from a range of access plans: monthly, biweekly, daily, or 12-entry passes. The space also includes virtual office services and printing access.

“Barão de São João is known for its strong cultural identity, natural surroundings and quality of life, standing out as an ideal setting for a space that promotes creative work and networking in connection with the community,” said the municipal council in a statement, adding that this project marks another step in its strategy to “attract talent, boost local economy and promote regional cohesion”.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Lagos mayor Hugo Pereira, councillor Sandra Oliveira, responsible for entrepreneurship, local parish representatives, and the team from (A)GARRA – Associação Jovem de Lagos, including its president Diogo Rodrigues. The event featured a guided tour of the space, live music and networking moments.
