FOUR NEW golf courses are to be developed across Portugal by the Atlântica Group.
The company has contracted Martin Erbert of Mackenzie & Erbert to design the courses, which will be at new Vila Sol-branded resorts.
The Vila Sol Douro – Port Wine Spirit & Golf Resort in Alijó in northern Portugal will get two new 18-hole courses.
The Vila Sol Évora – Conventual Vineyard & Golf Resort, between Évora and Redondo in the Alentejo, will get an 18-hole course and the Vila Sol Stº Estevão – Country Heritage & Golf Resort, in the Benavente district in the centre of Portugal, a 27-hole course.
The projects will cover a total area of 600,000 square metres, 15 per cent of which are dedicated to hotels and other residential equipments.
