Robert Scott Levitt was announced as the new Grand Inspector of the Group of Lodges in Portugal at a meeting of the Britannia Masters Lodge held at the Hotel Lido in Estoril on January 17.
The ceremony was performed by David Williamson, the assistant Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, while Nigel Brown, the Grand Secretary of UGLE, acted as the Master of Ceremonies at the meeting which was attended by 70 members and guests.
The following evening there was a meeting of the Lancaster Chapter where Rob Levitt was installed as the Grand Inspector of the Group of Chapters in Portugal.
Tribute was paid to the resigning Grand Inspector, Tony Jordan, for his hard work in successfully taking the Lodges and Chapter forward in what have been difficult times for Freemasons and all other similar organisations.
Meetings of the Lodges and Chapters are held regularly in Estoril, Vilamoura and Carvoeiro and visiting Freemasons are always very welcome.
