A NEIGHBOUR of footballer Luís Figo’s Se7e bar in Vilamoura marina has complained about the excessive noise coming from the nightspot.
Fátima Rocha owns an apartment above the bar and became so fed up with the noise that, last week, she hung a sign over her balcony which read “Bar Se7e no + noise”.
She said it showed a lack of respect to the people who want to sleep at night as the bar is open until 4am and she claims that her walls shake. Sra Rocha also said that she had asked them to turn the music down on several occasions but that, apparently, they only turned it up louder.
More complaining
She is not the only resident in the apartment block to complain about the noise levels and police confirmed that they have responded to noise disturbances on more than one occasion. After she put up the sign over her balcony, she was ordered to take it down by one of the condominium managers.
Figo’s business partner and co-owner of Se7e bar, Paulo China, told journalists that they have not broken any noise laws and that there are many other bars in the area which also make noise.
The law states that, during the day, mixed zones (both residential and commercial areas) such as where Se7e bar is located, are able to make up to 65 decibels of noise before breaking the law and 55 decibels at night, from 10pm until 7am.
The police could not confirm whether the noise levels at Se7e bar have exceeded these levels.
