FARO HOSPITAL is facing a crisis, according to the Sindicato dos Enfermeiros Portugueses, the nurses’ national union.
The union says the emergency unit of Faro Hospital is short on nurses and has people waiting in hospital beds and wheelchairs in the corridors instead of being treated by the emergency teams.
The nurses also say the risk of administering the wrong medication is real and that the complaints have already been sent to the hospital administration and the Health Ministry and that a guarantee was given several months ago that the problem would be solved.
