THE OCEÂNICO Developments PGA National Championship, organised by Best Golf Corporation, will be taking place today (Friday) and tomorrow from 8.30am in Vilamoura.
Around 52 participants have registered in the tournament that is offering money prizes totalling 30,000 euros.
A new prize will be awarded this year by the Lexus PGA Portugal Tour to a national female golfing champion. As only two women have registered in this category and only one of them, Mónica Bernardo, is Portuguese, she will win the title according to the regulations.
The men’s title will involve more fierce competition with several entries of previous national champions including António Sobrinho and Ricardo Santos.
The course chosen is the Oceânico Pinhal in Vilamoura, which is a par 72 of 6,383 metres, designed by Frank Pennink.
