Peninsula Motorsport change with the times

After nearly a year in business at the Algarve Motor Park, Puxar Lustro will now be called Peninsula Motorsport to reflect the changes in their services and to recognise the fact that it has a new business partner.

Managing director Phil Egginton told the Algarve Resident: “We have already had a soft launch of the new company name but a full launch will take place in mid July, where we will be revealing a very exciting partnership with a car manufacturer that will enable us to provide some of the fastest track days available for clients.”

The name change comes as the direction of the company moves from executive valeting services into the motorsport industry, and new partner Michael Prophet will be leading the way as the director of motorsport for Peninsula Motorsport.

“Michael has been involved in the motor racing industry since 1972.  He has worked in Dubai and most recently Abu Dhabi as the lead instructor in motor racing, and has experience in running racing academies, race teams, teaching racing drivers and working as a stunt driver,” said Phil Egginton.

“We have reacted to the market in the Algarve and have been well supported by the Algarve Motor Park in our venture and because of this we are focusing on motorsport. We now stock performance car parts and accessories, helmets and racing kits and are planning to introduce products related to motorbikes too. We will still be offering the valeting service but our new direction lies in motorsport.”

Contacts for the company remain the same and the new website, with full details of products and services offered by Peninsula Motorsport, including training courses at the drift school, will be launched to coincide with the official inauguration of the company in July.
