Five municipalities have been considered the best places to live in, according to their economic, social and environmental projects.
The choice has been made by INTEC – the behavioural technology institute of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
This year’s winners are: Viana do Castelo – for its economic achievement in the creation of Centro do Mar centre – designed to promote everything to do with the sea; Oliveira do Hospital – for its employment support project; Torres Vedras – for its socially-based project to renew public areas; Barreiro – for its natural park Mata da Machada, which works towards environmental education; Sever do Vouga – for its efforts in preserving the environment by developing “sustainable” tourism.
