NEW LEADERS have been chosen for the Agência de Promoção de Albufeira (APAL), the agency responsible for the promotion of Albufeira.
Around 60 individuals, businessmen, members of local government and business associations were present on August 20 at the Salgados clubhouse, Albufeira, for the ceremony to commemorate the taking of office of the new management of APAL.
José Carlos Leandro, the President of APAL’s General Assembly, said: “APAL needs the support and intervention of all of the development agents, whether they are directly or indirectly linked to tourism, not forgetting that this is the industry that brings wealth to the county”.
Desidério Silva, President of Albufeira Câmara, has been elected as President of APAL’s management for a second time.
He told all of the guests present that Albufeira has been a major tourist destination on a regional, national and international level, which he said was a decisive factor for adding value to Albufeira as a tourism destination.
“We have a quality coastline which was awarded 16 blue flags and 15 beaches designated gold quality,” said Desidério Silva.
Arlindo Simões Ferreira, a member of the Zoomarine management staff, has been elected the new President for APAL’s fiscal council.
