A NEW service to help protect those that live alone has been set up following the death of Bob Pine, a member of the American community in Lisbon.
Bob was 82 years old and died alone at home from natural causes but was not found for days after.
A friend of his, Pat Westheimer has devised a programme called the Pinetree programme, which pairs people together so that daily contact can be made to check on the wellbeing of others.
