A LEAKED document, which proposes a large salary be paid to the wives of the Kenyan Prime Minister and Vice-President, has left the population outraged.
The document says the head of civil service, Francis Muthaura, has directed that Ida Odinga and Pauline Musyoka each be paid around 3,700 euros every month to reward them for their roles as hostesses and for upholding family values.
Kenyan MPs have vowed to shoot down the proposal in parliament, saying it is too expensive for the economy.
