PINETREES riding Centre is celebrating its 22nd birthday on Sunday, July 22 with a special event starting at 5pm.
The sponsors of the event, Clínica Veterinária Torrejão of Almancil and Merrylegs Pets Resort of Loulé, will be giving out prizes to dogs and horses – and their owners too.
The event will include a competition for teams consisting of a dog and handler and, a horse and rider. Anyone can find a partner and compete or let the centre know and they will endeavour to match participants with a partner.
Horse riders can choose between a jumping course at 90cm and one at 60cm, or, if not inclined to jump, can choose the gymkhana obstacle course with poles, zig-zags and games. All rounds will be against the clock.
Tickets to compete cost 10 euros per team. There is no charge for onlookers and refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
Half of the funds raised will go to charity, the Faro Voluntary Fire Brigade and ECRA, the Equipa Canina de Resgate do Algarve, an organisation that uses trained dogs to assist finding lost people.
