PORTIMÃO’S ANNUAL sardine festival begins today (August 3) at 6pm by the riverside and continues until August 12.
For 10 days, thousands of people are expected to visit the festival and sample the array of foods available while being entertained by artists from Portugal and abroad. Popular television personality Herman José is due to be present tomorrow evening and tonight’s entertainment will be provided by Portuguese band, Filarmónica Gil.
The entrance fee is four euros and free for children under the age of 10. Doors open from 6pm until midnight.
