There were unpleasant scuffles with police today during a protest outside the Superior Council of Magistrature in support of ‘suspended’ judge Rui Fonseca e Castro. The incidents – which led to a number of arrests – took place as Mr Fonseca e Castro was being heard inside the building over disciplinary issues. The former Odemira judge was suspended last month due to what was viewed as his ‘anti-lockdown’/ ‘pandemic negationist’ stance (click here).
