Start the year with a bang in the Algarve!

You’ll be spoiled for choice if you’re planning to spend New Year’s Eve in the Algarve.
The region is hosting a variety of New Year’s events centring on firework displays, concerts, DJ parties, and much more, with Lagos, Lagoa, Albufeira, Quarteira, Faro, Tavira and Monte Gordo heading the entertainment’s programme.
There will be music for all tastes, including some top Portuguese music acts such as Aurea (Lagos) and Tiago Bettencourt (Albufeira) as well as a tribute band to the legendary British rock band Queen (Quarteira).
Lagoa will also be using its usually-deserted Centro de Congressos do Arade to hold the first ‘Arade Music Fest’, which will feature a dining area, an electronic music tent and ‘chill out’ lounge.
Hotels, casinos and restaurants across the region are also full of New Year’s Eve plans.
Many of the events are free, and parties will be running both before midnight and after.
