CHILDREN AGED two to five can receive special musical training at Faro’s public library thanks to a workshop being held today (Friday, June 22) and next Friday (June 29).
The music-related events, known as À Descoberta da Música (discovering music), are part of a major project called Brincar a Ler (learning to read while playing), and are being taken by English music teacher Isobel Barton Reis, who lives in the Algarve.
The workshop starts at 10am today and 10.45am next week and each is limited to 25 children through advance booking.
The objective is to allow young children their first contact with musical instruments, sounds and rhythms.
