Maritime police in the Algarve are warning people to stay away from the beaches due to this week’s bad weather. One tourist was even asked to leave a beach in Albufeira after he got too close to the water.
“People don’t realise that they can be swept away by the sea,” says agent Paulo Campos, one of many agents warning people to avoid getting too close to the shore.
“Many are unfamiliar with the dangers of the sea.”
