Trans woman wanted in Brazil to serve 10 year jail term
PJ police have detained a transexual woman in Lisbon who fled to Portugal from Brazil in order to escape a 10-year jail term for sexual extortion.
The 24-year-old is understood to have believed that by changing sex and name, she could escape justice.
The woman, who worked here as in Brazil as a prostitute, is not understood to have committed further crimes in Portugal.
She arrived in this country two years ago, following radical surgery, but has frequently moved locations, explain reports.
It is unclear whether her arrest here will imply immediate extradition to Brazil. Tabloid Correio da Manhã mentions “arrest warrants” issued, but there may well be mitigating arguments.
CM refers to the woman having filmed and photographed dozens of clients during sexual relations when she was simply a ‘transvestite’, but still legally male. As a transvestite, she demanded money from her victims, threatening otherwise to release the images she had over social media and to their families.
The case eventually came to court, by which time the woman had gone through a complete sex-change process, and with the help of new identity documents, fled her home country.
The woman is due to be presented to the Court of Appeal, says CM, for a decision on what next.
