According to the Institute of Meteorology (IM), a tremor, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, was felt in Portimão on August 10. It happened at 10.16am, and the epicentre was 180km south of Cape St Vincent. According to the IM, it did not cause any human or material damages. A month ago, another tremor, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, was felt 10km north of Castro Marim.
