After DECADES in captivity, eight turtles, which have been kept at the rehabilitation centre for marine species at Zoomarine’s Porto d’Abrigo in Guia, have recently been released back into the ocean. Even though the turtles have been in captivity for many years, the staff at Zoomarine have taught them to fend for themselves and to see man as a dangerous predator, in order for them to survive in the wild.
