THE PRESIDENT of the Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko, presided over the inauguration on Monday of an avenue in Lisbon, named after his country, during an official two-day visit to Portugal.
The avenue, named Avenida da Ucrânia, is near Avenida República da Bulária and the Bela Vista metro station.
Portugal’s President Cavaco Silva met with Victor Yushenko at an official banquet in Lisbon on the following day, where he gave a speech thanking the Ukrainian people’s contribution to Portugal.
