THE BODY of a juvenile dwarf whale was found at sea by maritime police, around five nautical miles off the coast of Olhão on Thursday, June 19.
The mammal, which measured six-and-a-half metres and weighed around three tonnes, was towed to shore by maritime police and sent to be incinerated.
It is believed that the whale, which was in a moderate state of decomposition, died as a result of being run over by a boat.
