Faro Club Naval’s Maria Pinheiro de Melo finished in fifth place in the Blythe Class at the European Sailing Championships in Italy to guarantee her place at the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore.
Meanwhile, João Serafim was crowned this year’s Algarve surf champion at Quarteira’s Forte Novo beach on Sunday.
