You have to be lost to find it

An old favourite in a new guise has returned to Ferragudo, with Tasca David reopening after extensive remodelling works to offer clients spare ribs made with the special secret sauce and a selection of new dishes.

British artist and chef David Pearce has opened the new restaurant, formerly Tasca Lougui, and has transformed the building into what he describes as being something for everyone – “restaurant, bistro, bar, it is all things to all people!”

The restaurant had long been renowned for its spare ribs and David has inherited the special secret recipe for the sauce while he has also introduced some new dishes to the menu he created himself.

“We have tried to keep the prices reasonable and all the dishes have an international feel,” he said.

The remodelling of the restaurant began in January but now it is complete, it provides not only a space for diners but also for those wanting to drop in for a drink in the new snug bar or to enjoy a snack.

David said: “The restaurant is very intimate and we have split up the space into three different areas, while I have spot lit some of my original pieces of work on the walls so it acts as a working gallery too.

“There is a very casual and relaxed atmosphere here and because of all the holes we have created to make the new spaces, and the need to enter through a hole in the wall, we usually say that you have to be lost to find it here!”

Tasca David is open every day from 6pm and is located on the Ferragudo road to Parchal.
