Youngsters thank Rotary Club

TWO YOUNGSTERS, Fábio Menalaha and Neuza Denis, both residents in the Algarve, attended the recent Almancil Rotary International Club meeting to express their sincere thanks to club members.

The club had organised and financed a trip for the youngsters to realise a dream of visiting England. Fábio and Neuza were given hospitality by members of the Rotary International Club 1280, near Manchester.

The host families described them as ‘perfect ambassadors for their country’ and praised their manners, enthusiasm and language skills.

At the camp, they were part of an international team from Germany, Denmark, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, Slovenia, Macau and the US.

Fábio and Neuza each prepared a speech in English to give to the members of the AIRC – no mean feat when English is only their second language.

They also presented a flag from the English Rotary International Club 1280 to Peter Hinze, incoming President of AIRC.
